Children and Their Innocence

This is why I shouldn't bring my laptop to school. Sometimes taking notes on a computer is helpful (as I have just discovered as I am sitting here in my history of modern dance class.) However for some science classes when you are forced to draw out the back bone structure of cholesterol a ba-dillion times, a laptop just wouldn't be efficient. Anyways, I was sitting here in class, enjoying the video of Alvin Ailey's Revelations (here's a bit of trivia.. Alvin Ailey's Revelations is the most widely seen dance... more than the Nutcracker because there are so many different versions of the Nutcracker) I noticed I have an email from Annie titled: Always check your child's homework. I couldn't resist and so I opened it:

(Here's the reply the teacher received the following day)

Dear Mrs. Jones,
I wish to clarify that I am not now, nor have I ever been, an exotic dancer.
I work at Home Depot and I told my daughter how hectic it was last week before the blizzard hit. I told her we sold out every single shovel we had, and then I found one more in the back room, and that several people were fighting over who would get it. Her picture doesn't show me dancing around a pole. It's supposed to depict me selling the last snow shovel we had at Home Depot.
From now on I will remember to check her homework more thoroughly before she turns it in.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Smith

I had to try very hard to hold in my laughter. Thanks, Annie.

Okay, back to discussing Alvin Ailey!

  1. I got this in my email too - so funny. Could totally happen to me. Except that I don't sell shovels.
